Ork Warboss Commission: Dang! Black Reach has some serious detail.

The Black Reach Ork Warboss on commission for a friend was one of the funnest models I have painted in a long time. Because it is a snap-tight model, I was able to remove the arm and head during painting with ease, allowing me to get into all the detail. That is what makes this model amazing, the level of detail is astounding. I have only painted the marines from the box, and they're great, but this Ork Warboss is the king of the set.

This model was primed in Leather Brown from Army Painter and painted over the course of 3 and 1/2 days. I used lots of washes and even glazed the ork skin with yellow glaze. I tried to minimize the amount of black on the model and brighten it up with yellows and whites.

I really love painting single models over units as you can embellish detail while not getting bored with the project taking weeks to complete.

Next commission is Ork Mad Dok, Grotsnik. A conversion that the client did is pretty awesome. The Dok has syringes stuck t his back, a giant ork powerclaw and supplementary bucket of bodyparts. I just hope I can do it justice. That should be up this week, then it's on to my Tau Army, getting it ramped up for the NOVA open.

That ork is one of my favorite plastic models. I love all the detail on it.
