It's not hard to know why. GW probably sees big returns whenever a new edition comes out. Top that off with an impressive new starter kit (like Dark Vengeance). GOLD!
I bet the new starter kit is going to blow our socks off, and quite frankly, I am really glad its going to have orks in it. I've always wanted to paint up an ork army...maybe this new kit might start one for me.
I have decided that this summer will be devoted to completing a new 40k army. I know, I know. 7th edition is probably not going to be as popular as GW expects and there will probably be loads of folks fleeing the scene. Say what you want about their poor game-design, GW can make some kick-ass models, most of the time. That new IG truck is a hideous thing though, don't know what they were thinking there.
The new army will be the Dark Eldar, so while its in progress, I am not accepting commissions. Not that I had many flowing in anyway.
There have been a lot of attempts in the past to do white Dark Eldar. I've been playing around with it. I think the key is to not actually use white, but colors close to white. Here is what I am working on now.
I think it might be better to do whole squads as tests, rather than single test minis. That way, you're already looking for shortcuts that will make army painting easier. I'm not too sure I like the result. I think it needs more variation and some other colors. I may go with greens or reds, or even yellows. Just not sure yet. Thoughts?

You might not be sure of this test scheme, but I am. These are really well done. I love the coal like color you have there. Are you going to go with purple-ish skin? That would work really well with witches.
Why not more Tau (models and articles)? On Tau of War...
Good question. I guess in some ways I don't think there is anything special that I can say about Tau that you can't read better elsewhere. In some ways I think the new Tau codex really falls short. I mean, do you really tactics for Tau anymore?
But I do have some personal Tau models that have locked away for too long...
Looks good thus far. Whats the process for achieving the white? Black undercoat, then a grey intermediate then white? Do you airbrush it on? Thanks

Liking this scheme. Those models are also so tiny...i have the utmost respect for anyone who paints them with this level of skill.
Bases go really well with the white as well! Do tell us how you are getting such nice white shades.
