Redemption of the Fallen Congratulations to Patrick Weber of Oregon

After months of painting and posting, we finally got to announce a winner of the Redemption of the Fallen Dark Angels army. It was Patrick Weber of Oregon.

The community raised was $6,525 for Doctors Without Borders. Its pretty amazing when you think about it. I mean...how many lives can be saved with that money? Sometimes people in developing nations need only basic treatment, vaccines and common medicines that we take for granted. Really, a HUGE THANK YOU to all who supported us! I just wish we had more stuff to raffle off!

Patrick sent us a note that I think really highlights why this project and others like it are so important.
Please read:
I heard about the NOVA Open Charity Foundation through a long time friend who lives in the DC area and from Naftka, known for his blog Faeit212. Naftka did an article highlighting the NOVA Open Foundation, and the non-profits proceeds would benefit, along with pictures of the different raffles. I chose Doctors Without Borders because of my dad's involvement with that organization in Mexico. He would administer the anesthesia for cleft palate surgeries for young children, as well as provide other basic medical treatment. I also donated to the Necron raffle because I'm a Civil Affairs Sergeant in the US Army Reserves and always try to find ways to help my fellow service members and their families. I've heard of so many great things the Fisher House Foundation does for service members and their families. I also found out about Warhammer 40k during my deployment to Afghanistan from the Royal Marines and even got to play a few games during our downtime. Those models weren't painted, of course, and I'm so excited to have such an incredibly well painted Dark Angels army to play with! I've always been drawn to the Dark Angels and look forward to hunting the Fallen. Those of you in the Oregon and California area better be prepared for the wrath of the Unforgiven! I'm definitely in disbelief that I won this amazing army but I'm even more excited that we as a community were able to raise so much for such great causes. I'm really excited to see what we can raise next year!

I am really looking forward to next year. There are some things I want to change, one being that there should be more stuff to raffle off. Basically, more winners please! More to come in the future.

Great stuff! I will definitely be supporting this next year. A lack of a credit card hindered my support this year, but congratulations on the amount raised. Was that just the redemption of the fallen raffle, or all three?

That is an amazing amount of money being raised. I am only 16 so therefore have not had any real life charitable experiences, but when I start earning money I think I will definitely support this charity at some point. Good work to all those involved, I can't wait to see what you have planned next year!

Congrats. Nice feeling isn't it?

Next year though...hmmm, you paint a Corregidor force. With a Gecko or two. Yeah, That's it. Stop wasting your talent on space marines ;)
